I realised earlier today that I have details of loads of competitions on my personal diary, but none on my blog! So here we go: an attempt to rectify that with blog posts about competitions over the next few days.
First up: Virgin Media Shorts.
Virgin Media Shorts champions and supports new film making talent, helping undiscovered film makers get their work seen by millions. Every entry will be showcased on their website, as well as on their TiVo®, iPhone and iPad apps.
The prize list for this year:
- The Grand Prize winner (chosen by a panel of industry experts) will walk away with £30,000 funding to work on their next film along with mentoring from the BFI
- 13 shortlisted films will make it into the big screen in cinemas nationwide for a year
- The winner of the People's Choice Award will receive £5,000 funding plus mentoring from the BFI
Films can be no longer than 2 minutes 20 seconds and should be uploaded to www.virginmediashorts.co.uk between 19th April and 12th July 2012.
